Bank robber eludes capture after two-hour search in Santa Cruz

SANTA CRUZ >> After setting up a perimeter and searching for hrs. Santa Cruz police could not find a man who robbed a bank branch on the one hundred block of Morrissey Blvd. on Friday.

Shortly after three in the afternoon police responded to a robbery at a branch of US Bank, 110 Morrissey Blvd, Sergeant Gregg Crofts said. The robber, wearing medical scrubs and a blond wig, passed a note to a bank teller demanding money. After the teller gave him the money, the robber ran out the door and was seen running north on Morrissey.

The robber was not armed, Crofts said.

After looking for more than 2 hrs. police called off the search at 5:30 in the afternoon…
