Santa Cruz police K-9 finds 3 ounces of meth

SANTA CRUZ >> A 51-year-old Santa Cruz man was jailed Mon after a police K-9 found three ounces of meth in the man’s N.C.

Santa Cruz police officers stopped Calvin Lee Carlson near Washburn and Ocean streets about 6:15 in the afternoon Mon commented Santa Cruz police spokeswoman Joyce Blaschke. Carlson was on probation, and police K-9 Argus searched his black 1999 Mitsubishi sedan.

Argus found three ounces of crystal meth in abundant clear baggies, Blaschke said. Carlson was apprehended on suspicion of felony possession of drugs for sale and a probation violation, Blaschke said.
