James Gaynor Junior stated he loves a challenge. He’ll get one trying to turn around Harbor High’s football team.

The 26-year-old, who hails from Md. was publicly named head coach of the Pirates on Friday.

The Pirates, who haven’t produced a winning season since 2000, are coming off an 0-9 campaign and riding a 23-game losing streak. Gaynor is the school’s 8th head coach since 2006.

“I love a challenge,” remarked Gaynor, a slot receiver and kick returner in 2012 and ’13 at Valley City State University, an NAIA school in North Dakota. “I know it’s going to be a challenge getting a winning culture there.”

Runeare commented she received a couple of positive responses.
