California drought: Rain falling across the state today

A powerful atmospheric river storm is bringing rain Fri to much of Calif. resulting in a flood watch for 3 counties down south and strong winds to the Bay Area.

In Southern Calif. a flash flood watch will be in effect from seven in the morning Fri through Sat morning for Santa Barbara, Ventura and Los Angeles counties, according to the National Weather Service.

The weather service has issued a high wind warning for parts of the Bay Area and Central Coast, including the Monterey Bay Area. As of six in the morning the strongest reported wind gust was 84 miles per hour along the Large Sur Coast.
