Monterey County rivers continue to rise, evacuations ordered near Salinas

MONTEREY — The Large Sur River reached its moderate flood stage and the Carmel and Salinas rivers continued to rise amid continued rainfall Mon while evacuations were ordered in Bolsa Knolls near Salinas because of flooding.

The Monterey County Office of Emergency Services ordered a mandatory evacuation for Bolsa Knolls-based on info from 1st responders on the scene. The evacuation area goes from Russell Road to Bear Creek Court, just past the entrance to Salinas Golf and Country Club, and Van Buren Avenue to the properties on the southeast side of San Juan Grade Road.

A high wind warning goes into effect at 1 in the afternoon and expires at three in the morning Tuesday.
