Letters, March 4, 2017: Santa Cruz has not always been this weird

The real truth is Obama colluded with the Russians

Santa Cruz has not always been this strange

I’m beginning to think that newcomers are trying to rewrite Santa Cruz history. Since before the 1940s there’s been: Middle of the city Eastside and Westside. Everyone is welcome to their own geographical pet names, but please, no more yellow signs trying to appoint a special identification to an arbitrary area.

Leave that vulnerable cliff to the design of nature as surf and wind take their course. Also, the surfer statue on West Cliff is a monument not only to the 3 Hawaiian princes but all the other surfers who have ridden the waves here.
