Parcel tax passing, but Lakeside delays champagne

Tiny Lakeside Joint School District’s $647 parcel tax appears to have passed last week — but district boosters are still awaiting certification by the voter registrars before exhaling.

“It is looking fine but we can not call it yet,” Chief Business Official Susan Ady said. The word around Lakeside, which serves 135 students, is “Put the champagne in the fridge but don’t pop yet.”
